In 2020 a chance encounter led Jacki Waters to set up this Manchester based start-up Literary and Editorial Agency by the name of Red (as in Read). See our webpage for editorial services. Dedicated and passionate, we seek to represent North of England authors who specialise in fiction, including fantasy, romance and romantic comedy aimed at adults and young adults. Our service is bespoke and once signed by us, we help you focus on three key areas: manuscripts, book covers and publishing.
Manuscripts
We help authors by:
- initially reading 50 pages of your manuscript
- contacting you within eight weeks if your submission has been accepted
- offering guidance on improvements
- identifying core readership
Book covers
We help authors by:
- liaising with professional design agency Solport to advise about book cover design
- considering the appropriate genre for your work
- taking account of your personality so that your book cover becomes a personal choice
Publishing
We help authors by:
- offering advice about publishing
- liaising with publishers
- linking with distributors
- supporting you at book launches
